The Klondike Sled is used in Arctic regions.  It is simple to build and is an excellent Patrol project.  This drawing should be self -explanatory.  However, it is only an example - your own design will be acceptable. (you might use old skis as runners)

Paint your sled with bright colors to preserve the wood as well as to individualize the sled.  Use varnish on the bottom of the runners, then wax them well before using.  The Eskimos iced their runners.  Accessories may be added - a canvas snow curtain around the sides.  Strap your equipment down to keep from loosing it.  Use screws where you can in place of nails.  Drill first to avoid splitting the wood.
