at Henry Ford II High School

What is the Ojibwa Swim Program?
The Ojibwa Swim Program is a chance for your scouts to earn the Swimming or Lifesaving Merit Badges. The Ojibwa District Activities Committee will host the event at the Henry Ford II pool on March 13, 20, & 27. Merit Badge counselors will be at the pool to pass scout on the Merit Badge Requirements

How do I register my scout?
All registrations are handled by your Troop, we do not accept individual registrations and all participants must be preregistered.

Troop leaders can register their scouts by either filling out the attached paper registration form or by going to http://ojibwacamporee.org/swim.htm and clicking on the registration link to use the council’s online Doubleknot registration system.

Important information about registration:

  • The cost is $16.00 for each scout.
  • You must pre-register. No walk-ins will be allowed.
  • You must register the scouts name and the badge he is taking. Scouts will only be able to take one merit badge.
  • Make all registrations through your Troop, No money can be collected at the pool
  • There will be 60 Swimming and 25 Lifesaving spots. Once the spaces are full no more registrations can be taken.
  • Registration is on a first come first serve policy and will start on January 15 and go until all the spots are full. Any unit attending the January Roundtable can sign up there.

This is not an instructional course, all participants must be able to swim and do the requirements for the badge they are taking. Scouts should practice the Merit Badge requirement prior to attending the Swim Program to ensure that the scout can pass the requirements.

Important information To Remember:

  • The Swim Program will start promptly at 7:00pm (arrive at 6:30 to change) and end approx. 9:30pm
  • The 2009 Swim Program will be conducted in only 3 weeks this year, scouts must attend all 3 weeks in order to complete the merit badge.
  • Scouts are not guaranteed to earn the merit badge at this event.
  • Knowledge of CPR is required for merit badges.
  • All scouts must have a signed and completely filled out blue card on the 1st night (March 13).
  • Any Partials can be handled by calling Glenn Momeyer to make arrangements.
